reposting from FB thread...

Thank you for this list!
I have one question: my SGS2's csc is "I9100OXEKI1" (exactly written as it is, double-checked)
According to the specification you described, I should look for "ox" country code, which is absent, but xet part -"xe" - describes my need, so what could be "o" then?
Thanks.

hi, thx for your question. i just searched for it and it looks like the code OXE is a CSC for some European countries including Baltic, Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine. and for the "O", it means Open. that is to say, this is an Open European CSC for the above countries.

if this is true, then OXA means Open European CSC for France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Poland and UK

thx again for your input

btw, it can be treated as a Multi-CSC since it covers several countries or regions

Thank you for answer!
now after your explain of "O" I found some topic related to it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1387855
Since I am not familiar with all this stuff, I could not understand it earlier.
Thanks a lot! :)

hello there. I’m justwacky and i’m curious about how this csc thing works. I know a bit of information thanks to your introduction above. My problem right now is:

-I want to change the csc code for a Lenovo phone (bought from china). The model is A280. The problem is, I can’t find the malaysian firmware for this. Can you please advice me on what to do? Many thanks.

sorry for late reply. csc, in terms of samsung products, are the things or files controlling the locale and or settings used. i dono how lenovo call it but if your phone is rooted, you should find a directory called csc under /system, which contains all csc related files. if in doubt, do a backup first and try to change those files by editing them manually (if you know how), or by downloading a suitable version from the internet or from your backup files
